Best Songs Of 2010: Florrie ‘Give Me Your Love’

Many of my fellow music nerds and I have known about UK singer/drummer, Florrie, for quite some time now..she’s been releasing free music on her website for a couple of years and her songs get better and better with every release..’Give Me Your Love’ is probably my favourite (with a ‘u’) of everything she’s put out thus far..Florrie is well known in the UK music scene as the live drummer for hit-making production house, Xenomenia, and has toured with Girls Aloud and the Pet Shop Boys to name a few..She’s totally adorable and fans of Annie and good pop music will be all over this track. If you like what you hear, head over to http://florrie.com/ and download this and other songs for free. For now, watch the video for my favourite song of 2010, Florrie’s ‘Give Me Your Love’.

Best Songs of 2010: Empress ‘Captain’

Totally cute song by new UK dance-y group, Empress. It’s virtually impossible to find a bio on these guys, but they’re from the UK..I know that much..Lead singer Janee Bennett is adorable..The song reminds me a bit of some of the late 90s trip-hop bands (Lamya, Moa, and even Post-era Bjork) but with more of a dance feel for sure. Check out the video for their debut single, Captain..One of my faves of 2010.

Best Songs of 2010: Rye Rye feat MIA ‘Sunshine’

Love this song by Baltimore rapper Rye Rye featuring M.I.A. Rye Rye was discovered by M.I.A. and signed to her N.E.E.T. record label and then picked up by Interscope. Her debut album has been delayed forever but it supposed to finally be released in Jan of 2011 and Sunshine is the debut single. Highly recommend this video and song to just about everyone. Totally The Hotness.
